Music and theatre

Check out what I've been up to on stage.

Music

I am an avid music enthusiast, both as a listener and a player, and I own an ever growing list of fun instruments to play with !

Among others :

  • two guitars (classic and folk)
  • two handpans
  • a didgeridoo
  • a djembé
  • a Sansula (also known as a kalimba on a thin layer box)
  • a Kigonki (also known as tongue drum)

I try to play a bit of each of them when I have the time, and I'm always keen on discovering new funky instruments.

One day, I'll own a theremin and I want to be able to play multiple instruments at once like Henry Shanks.

I am also very interested in electronic music and DJing, especially progressive trance from the Anjunabeats label. I started making mixtapes and playlists of my favorite tunes on Youtube, and I hope to have the time someday to properly mix them !

Theatre

I'm also a big fan of stage theatre, and have been doing stage acting for a long time since my childhood.

Watching plays usually motivates me to in turn act myself on stage.

I try to go to the French Avignon Festival, France's major theatre event, every year that I can.

Season 2018/2019

  • Play : Cendrillon by Joël Pommerat
  • Staff : Compagnie Hippolyte
  • Director : Etienne Brac

I played the nostalgic Prince in this modern take on the classic tale of Cendrillon (Cinderella).

This naive character was heartbroken by the disappearance of his mother a few years prior to the events, and progressively takes back confidence in life when meeting Cendrillon.

I also had the great opportunity of playing with several music instruments (handpan, kigonki, sansula, Tibetan singing bowl...) during the scene transitions of the play.

We played three times on the stage at the Anagramme theatre in Lyon, unfortunately, the video of the only recorded performance was corrupted, so there is no recording of the show !

Season 2017/2018

  • Play : La Vie en Prose (original patchwork of various play scenes)
  • Staff : Compagnie Arts en Scène
  • Director : Nelly Gabriel

This was my first stage work in a long time, so I joined the amateur theatre class for adults of the Arts en Scène school.

With Nelly Gabriel, we designed for one year a play revolving around the global theme of love and all stages of a relationship : courting, dating, life together, breaking up...

The play took place at the Espace 44 theatre in Lyon.

Unfortunately, I broke my left foot at the final rehearsal, so I was unable to play on stage that year.
